Israel Attributes Recent Kite Launches to Hamas, Responds with Military Strikes

Israeli security officials have concluded that Hamas is behind the recent wave of kite launches from Gaza, viewing these not as isolated incidents but as coordinated actions. According to a report by Kan News, Hamas is believed to be testing Israel's response and gauging how the Israeli military will act against these provocations.

In response, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) carried out strikes targeting Hamas weapons depots, marking a shift from previous operations that focused mainly on neutralizing individual militants. This escalation reflects Israel's determination to deter further kite launches and related threats.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz issued a joint warning that Israel will not tolerate continued kite, drone, or balloon attacks. They stated that if the launches do not cease immediately, the IDF will intensify efforts to thwart those responsible and may evacuate populations from areas used for launching these devices.

The statement emphasized that Israel will not revert to the security situation prior to October 7 and will prevent Hamas or any other Gaza-based group from threatening Israeli communities or undermining citizens' sense of security.
