Palestinian Authority Police Arrest Israeli Reservist in West Bank's Area C

Palestinian Authority police operated overnight between Sunday and Monday in Area C of the West Bank, where they arrested an Israeli reservist living in the area and confiscated his weapon. The incident sparked condemnation from the Benjamin Regional Council and its chairman, Israel Gantz, who criticized the Israeli Civil Administration for blaming the Israeli resident, claiming he was traveling in a dangerous area.

Israel Gantz, who also chairs the Yesha Council, stated that the event highlights the failure of the Oslo Accords, calling them "long since meaningless." He condemned the Palestinian Authority police for acting contrary to the agreements by detaining an Israeli reservist and seizing his weapon, while Israel blamed the Israeli citizen for traveling on the road.

Gantz urged Israeli decision-makers to recognize the reality on the ground by canceling the Oslo Accords and enabling free movement and settlement throughout Benjamin, Judea, and Samaria. He also called for the immediate opening of a secure and safe route connecting the Gush Dolav-Talmonim bloc to Highway 443 to ensure freedom of movement for Israeli residents in the area.
