Artyom Dolgopyat Wins Third European Floor Exercise Championship in Croatia
Artyom Dolgopyat, Israel's leading gymnast from Maccabi Tel Aviv, secured the gold medal in the floor exercise at the European Championships held in Zagreb, Croatia. He achieved a score of 14.466 in the final on August 21, 2026, outperforming Russian gymnast Dukho Arseni who scored 14.333 for silver, and British gymnast Harry Hepworth who took bronze with 14.300 points.
This victory marks Dolgopyat's third European title in the floor exercise, having previously won in 2022 and 2024. Additionally, he has been runner-up four times in this event at the European level. His international accolades also include three World Championship medals: gold in 2023 and silver medals in 2017 and 2019.
Dolgopyat's recent win comes exactly two years before the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games, positioning him well as he prepares for the World Championships in the Netherlands this October, a key competition on his road to the Olympics.
