Israeli Gymnast Artur Dolgopyat Wins Third European Floor Exercise Title

Israeli gymnast Artur Dolgopyat secured his third European Championship gold medal in the floor exercise on Friday at the apparatus gymnastics competition held in Zagreb. The 29-year-old finished first in the final with a score of 14.466 points, narrowly beating Russian Arsenii Dokhno who scored 14.333 and British gymnast Harry Hepworth who took bronze with 14.300. Dolgopyat qualified for the final in second place with a score of 14.766 and delivered a winning routine in the final to claim the top podium spot.

After the victory, Dolgopyat expressed his happiness and excitement, noting that despite imperfect preparation, he managed to perform well. He stated, "I will continue to work as hard as possible, and my next goal is the World Championship." This latest gold adds to his previous European titles won in 2020 in Mersin and 2022 in Munich. In addition to his three gold medals, Dolgopyat has been runner-up four times at the European Championships in 2018, 2019, 2023, and 2024.

Dolgopyat's achievements extend beyond Europe; he is the 2020 Olympic champion from Tokyo, the 2024 Olympic silver medalist from Paris, and the 2023 World Champion in the floor exercise. He also earned two silver medals at the World Championships in 2017 and 2019, underscoring his status as one of the top gymnasts internationally.
