Home Front Command Lifts Nationwide Gathering Limit After Deal With Iran

Israel’s Home Front Command lifted its nationwide cap on public gatherings of up to 5,000 people on Monday morning, after a situation assessment. The updated civilian defense policy took effect at 10:00 a.m. and is set to remain in place until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

An IDF spokesperson said the Home Front Command is continuing to conduct ongoing assessments and that any further changes will be announced on the official Home Front Command and IDF Spokesperson platforms. The restrictions had been tightened a day earlier as Israel prepared for possible Iranian fire in response to the strike in the Dahieh neighborhood, which also led to the cancellation of large concerts by singers Omer Adam and Eyal Golan.

With the limit now removed, Omer Adam’s planned concert at Ramat Gan Stadium is expected to go ahead as scheduled. A security official said on Sunday that if the IDF saw signs of planned launches toward Israel, it would update and change the Home Front Command instructions, with the goal of warning the public as early as possible.

Following the announcement of an agreement with Iran, the restrictions were lifted across the country except along the confrontation line. There, outdoor gatherings remain limited to 100 people and indoor gatherings to 400. On the northern border and in the communities of Or HaGanuz, Sufsufa, Meron, Bar Yochai, Yesud HaMa'ala, Ksra-Samia, Beit Jann and Sde Eliezer, schools will operate only in places that have immediate access to a protected shelter.
