Jerusalem Bus Driver Found Driving Under Influence of Cocaine and Cannabis
Israeli police detained a 26-year-old bus driver from East Jerusalem on suspicion of driving under the influence of illegal drugs. The driver, employed by the Superbus company, was stopped during a targeted operation conducted by the Jerusalem District's National Fraud Unit detectives and officers from the Oz police station. A drug test revealed positive results for cocaine and cannabis. Following the incident, which occurred two days prior, the bus was immediately removed from service. After a hearing at the Oz police station, authorities decided to revoke the driver's license for 30 days and suspend the bus's operation for the same period. The police reported the findings and actions on the morning of August 19, 2026.
