Eden Shamir Joins Ironi Tiberias for Upcoming Season with Option

Ironi Tiberias has signed experienced midfielder Eden Shamir for the upcoming season, with an option for extension. Shamir, 31, who played last season at Bnei Sakhnin, is the club's third signing this week following defender Ziv Morgan and winger Nana Gamble. The team from the Galilee region continues to build its squad despite recent challenges, including a heavy cloud over the club due to a refereeing controversy and a recent loss.

Shamir will be joining Ironi Tiberias as his seventh career club. He developed at Hapoel Haifa, made his senior debut with Hapoel Kfar Saba, and later played for Hapoel Be'er Sheva, Standard Liège, Maccabi Tel Aviv, Maccabi Petah Tikva, and Bnei Sakhnin. Last season, he appeared in 29 matches for Sakhnin, scoring two goals and providing one assist.

Ironi Tiberias is still seeking to strengthen its squad by adding a striker, a left winger, and a defensive midfielder. Additionally, the club is searching for a coach to work alongside Moti Krispil, who currently lacks a professional coaching license and cannot lead the team from the sidelines at the season's start. The coaching candidates include Nimrod Kostika, Alon Ziv, and Guy Weisinger, with a decision expected within 48 hours to allow the new coach to debut in the first round against Hapoel Petah Tikva. The club also considered Gal Arel, currently coaching Maccabi Petah Tikva's youth team, but he prefers to remain there for now.
