Mass Brawl at Yamit 2000 Water Park in Holon Leads to 12 Arrests and Park Closure

A large-scale fight erupted at the Yamit 2000 water park in Holon on August 15, 2026, resulting in the arrest of 12 suspects and injuries to two security guards. The incident began around 3 p.m. following a dispute between Bedouin visitors and security personnel over loud music. Security guards had asked the visitors to lower the volume of a speaker, which escalated into violence with chairs and other objects being thrown. The police quickly responded, subdued the situation, and detained the suspects, all residents of southern Israel. The two injured security guards were lightly hurt and received medical treatment. Authorities confirmed the incident had a criminal background and closed the park to visitors.

Yamit 2000, operated by the municipal company "The Company for Leisure and Entertainment Holon," spans approximately 70 dunams and features attractions such as the 14-meter-high, 140-meter-long "Crazy Cones" tube slide. The park can accommodate up to 5,000 visitors and saw about 260,000 guests last summer. Park manager Doron Gabay emphasized the goal of providing a safe and enjoyable environment, noting the presence of enhanced security and staff to prevent conflicts. He also expressed hopes to reach 300,000 visitors this season despite challenges such as the war in June 2025, which impacted attendance. The park remains closed following the violent outbreak as investigations continue.
