10-Year-Old Killed in Car-Bus Crash Near Shavei Shomron

A 10-year-old boy was killed Sunday afternoon in a severe traffic accident near the Shavei Shomron settlement in Samaria, after a collision between a private car and a bus. Emergency crews were called to the scene and pronounced him dead there because of the force of the impact.

Magen David Adom said its 101 emergency center in the Yarkon region received the call at 4:54 p.m. Paramedics and medics arrived quickly and found the child suffering from catastrophic multiple injuries, with no signs of life. After medical checks, they declared him dead at the scene.

The female driver of the private car, described as about 40 years old, received initial treatment and was evacuated in moderate condition to Meir Hospital in Kfar Saba. She had injuries to her head and back. In addition, four other injured people were evacuated from the site by Red Crescent ambulances.

MDA medic Shnir Hala and medic Shmuel Agasi described the crash as very severe. They said, “When we arrived, we saw a boy about 10 years old unconscious, without a pulse and without breathing, suffering from the most severe multiple trauma. Unfortunately, his injuries were fatal and we had to declare him dead at the scene.” Police and traffic investigators reached the area and opened an inquiry into the circumstances of the collision.
