Red Alert Issued for Extreme Heat Waves Across Israel's Jordan Valley and Arava

A severe and oppressive heat wave has prompted the Israeli Meteorological Service to issue a red alert for extreme heat in the Jordan Valley, Beit She'an Valley, Sea of Galilee basin, northern and southern Judean Desert, Dead Sea area, and the Arava region. Despite a slight temperature drop expected over the next two days, heavy to extreme heat and high humidity levels will persist across most parts of the country.

Today, Tuesday, the weather is mostly clear with above-average heat and dry conditions in the mountains and inland areas, while the coastal plain will experience mild temperatures. Nighttime will be clear to partly cloudy. On Wednesday, temperatures will slightly decrease mainly in the mountains and inland, but it will remain hotter than usual with dry conditions inland and mild weather along the coast. Thursday will see a further slight temperature drop, but heavy to extreme heat will continue in most areas.

Forecasted temperatures for today include Jerusalem at 20-33°C, Tel Aviv 26-32°C, Beersheba 24-34°C, Haifa 26-31°C, Tiberias 25-36°C, Safed 23-37°C, and Eilat 30-41°C. Authorities warn of risks such as dehydration and heat-related disasters, urging caution especially for those traveling on hiking trails and outdoor activities during this period.
