IDF Updates Restrictions on Far-Right Activist After Court Cancels House Arrest Condition

Following a court ruling that annulled the house arrest condition requiring far-right activist Tal Dardik to remain at his mother-in-law's home, Central Command Chief Aviv Kochavi revised the restrictions. The district court decision acknowledged the significant security threat posed by Dardik but deemed the specific location condition disproportionate and canceled it, allowing for new terms to be set.

In response, the IDF updated the order to ban Dardik from the entire West Bank region except for the city of Modi'in Illit, where he must report to the local police station twice daily. The expiration date of the order remains unchanged. Authorities also informed Dardik that if he agrees to wear electronic monitoring devices, his conditions might be eased.

The original restriction was imposed by Major General Avi Blot, and the court ruling followed a legal challenge. The security establishment continues to view Dardik as a significant threat, justifying the overall restriction despite the court's modification of the specific terms.
