Maccabi Tel Aviv Nears Signing of Kiton Wallace Amid Real Madrid Interest in Loney Walker

Maccabi Tel Aviv is reportedly close to finalizing its roster for the 2026/2027 season with guard Kiton Wallace as a leading candidate to replace Loney Walker. Spanish media are closely monitoring the situation due to Real Madrid's interest in Walker, which could be facilitated if Wallace joins the Israeli club. Spanish journalist Sergio Vegas noted that Real Madrid fans are eager for Wallace to sign with Maccabi Tel Aviv, as it would open the door for Walker's departure from the team.

Wallace, standing 1.90 meters tall, plays both point guard and shooting guard positions and is known for his left-handed play. He began his career at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), went undrafted in the 2021 NBA Draft, and started professionally in the NBA G League. His performance there led to two seasons with the Atlanta Hawks in the NBA. In the 2024/25 season, he averaged 5.4 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 2.6 assists in 16.2 minutes over 31 games. The following season, he contributed 3.5 points, 1.1 rebounds, and 1.8 assists in 10.1 minutes across 53 games, shooting 37.3% from three-point range.

Maccabi Tel Aviv regularly scouts players potentially leaving the NBA, and Wallace is viewed as an athletic point guard with strong defensive skills, ball pressure, and game management abilities.
