Kiton Wallace Joins Maccabi Tel Aviv Following Villeurbanne Project Collapse

Maccabi Tel Aviv announced the signing of guard Kiton Wallace as their final addition for the 2026/2027 season. Wallace was initially set to join Panathinaikos after interest from the Greek club, but the collapse of the ambitious Villeurbanne project indirectly led to his move to Maccabi. The German center, who never officially played for Villeurbanne due to the financial crisis involving Tony Parker and his club, was part of a broader disruption that affected player transfers.

A key figure in this chain of events was Silvain Francisco, the star player originally expected to lead Villeurbanne's project. Francisco left Villeurbanne without playing a game to join Panathinaikos, altering their recruitment plans and leaving Wallace available.
