Lonnie Walker, the standout guard from Maccabi Tel Aviv, is reportedly set to transfer to Real Madrid, according to multiple Spanish media outlets. The move is expected to strengthen the squad of coach Pedro Martinez. Spanish journalist Nacho Bravo declared the deal "closed," sharing an image of Walker in a Real Madrid jersey, while other sources remain cautiously optimistic but agree the transfer is imminent.

Analyst Sergio Vegas highlighted Walker's potential fit with Real Madrid, noting that although Walker faced challenges adapting during his first season in Israel, the structured environment of Real Madrid could better showcase his talents. Walker has a binding contract with Maccabi Tel Aviv worth $2.2 million per season, and his NBA exit option has expired, meaning any EuroLeague transfer requires Maccabi's approval. However, it is widely believed the Israeli club will not block his move.

In his debut season with Maccabi Tel Aviv, Walker established himself as a key player, appearing in 28 EuroLeague games (starting 26) and averaging 15.2 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game, with a 35.1% three-point shooting percentage. Domestically, he played 13 regular-season Israeli Premier League games, averaging 15.6 points in under 20 minutes, shooting 40.7% from three-point range and 81.5% from the free-throw line. In the playoffs, he contributed 10 points and 3.5 rebounds per game over two matches.
