Hapoel Tel Aviv Signs Douglas Aveso for Four Years in Club Record Deal

Hapoel Tel Aviv has completed the signing of Douglas Aveso, a 20-year-old midfielder from Serbian champions Red Star Belgrade, on a four-year contract. The transfer, costing the Israeli club 2.5 million euros, marks the most expensive deal in the club's history. After a rigorous day of medical examinations in Belgrade, including an MRI of his knee and heart function tests, Aveso was officially presented in Hapoel's red kit. The club's medical team reviewed the results carefully due to previous concerns, as Aveso had failed medical tests during a proposed transfer to Viktoria Plzen, which had agreed on a 3.3 million euro deal before it collapsed.

Despite these concerns, Hapoel Tel Aviv expressed optimism about Aveso's fitness, noting he had completed a full training camp with Red Star Belgrade. The player will earn 350,000 euros per season. Coach Aliniv Breda plans to use Aveso as a central attacking midfielder (number 10 role), similar to the role played by Louizo, rather than replacing right winger Satu Turiel. Aveso is expected to be registered for Hapoel's upcoming Conference League third qualifying round match against Katowice in Hungary, scheduled for tomorrow at 21:00.
