Hapoel Tel Aviv Signs Douglas Aveso After Passing Medical Tests Ahead of Conference League Match

Douglas Aveso, the 20-year-old midfielder from Red Star Belgrade, has completed a rigorous medical examination and is set to officially sign a three-year contract with Hapoel Tel Aviv. The transfer, valued at 2.5 million euros, is expected to be the largest in the club's history. The medical tests, including an MRI of his knee and heart function assessments, were conducted in Serbia and carefully reviewed by Hapoel Tel Aviv's medical team due to previous failed medicals that halted his move to Viktoria Plzen.

Following the successful clearance, Aveso will be registered to play under coach Eliniv Breda for Hapoel Tel Aviv's upcoming Conference League third qualifying round match against Katowice in Hungary, scheduled for 21:00. The player will receive an annual salary of 350,000 euros with options to extend his contract by one or two additional seasons.

Coach Breda plans to deploy Aveso as an attacking midfielder (number 10 role), similar to how Luiso Luiz was used, rather than replacing right winger Satu Toriel. This signing comes after a demanding day that began in a Belgrade hospital and extended late into the night, confirming the club's optimism about the player's fitness and readiness to contribute immediately.
