Rapper Yoav Eliasi Summoned for Investigation by Israeli Police Oversight Unit
Israeli rapper Yoav Eliasi, known as "HaTzel," has been summoned for questioning by the Tel Aviv branch of the Police Investigations Department (Mahash). A Mahash source told ynet that additional individuals are expected to be questioned in connection with the case. Last week, Police Commissioner Dany Levi removed Eliasi from his position as commander of the readiness unit in the Tel Aviv district after Eliasi boasted about using his police connections to prevent the closure of a nightlife venue in which he is a partner. Earlier this week, Mahash interrogated a police officer with the rank of chief superintendent under caution, suspecting that he advanced Eliasi's interests regarding the venue.
