Right-Wing Rapper Yoav Eliasi Promoted to Senior Police Commander in Tel Aviv

Yoav Eliasi, known as "HaTzel," a right-wing activist and rapper, has been promoted to the rank of Chief Superintendent and appointed as the head of rapid response units in Tel Aviv. Eliasi joined the Israeli police force about two years ago as a commander of a rapid response unit in Tel Aviv. His promotion was authorized by the former Tel Aviv District Commander Peretz Amar and National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir. The police explained that initially, commanders of rapid response units held the rank of Superintendent, but as the units expanded, stations with multiple units now appoint a Chief Superintendent to coordinate activities during routine and emergency situations. In larger district rapid response units with over 50 officers, the commander holds the rank of Chief Superintendent, while the deputy holds the rank of Superintendent. Recently, more than seven officers have been promoted to Chief Superintendent to lead rapid response units across Israel.
