Jackals Spotted Near Dogit Beach on the Sea of Galilee, One Captured
A small number of jackals were seen approaching Dogit Beach on the Sea of Galilee, next to Doga Beach, where vacationers were attacked the previous evening by a pack of jackals. Beach workers chased the animals away, and a ranger from the Israel Nature and Parks Authority captured one of them.
The sighting came after the nearby attack on holidaymakers at Doga Beach heightened concern in the area. According to the report, the jackals at Dogit were driven off before they could get close to beachgoers.
A ranger from the Israel Nature and Parks Authority later trapped one of the jackals, apparently as part of the response to the repeated appearances near the shoreline. No injuries or additional incidents were reported in this brief account.
