Rabid Calf Found Dead in Golan Heights Settlement Prompts Health Warning
The Israeli Ministry of Health reported that a calf infected with rabies died on July 31 in a barn in the settlement of Ma'ale Gamla in the Golan Heights. Four people who were exposed to the calf have already received preventive treatment. The ministry urges anyone who had contact with the animal or with stray animals in the area between July 17 and 31 to urgently contact the Kinneret Health Office or their nearest health authority. Pet owners are also advised to check their animals' vaccination status with the local veterinary authority.
