Health Ministry Reports Rabid Cow Death in Ma'ale Gamla, Four People Treated

The Israeli Ministry of Health reported that a cow infected with rabies died on July 31 at a dairy farm in Ma'ale Gamla, located in the Golan Heights. The ministry received the report about the infected cow yesterday and has since provided preventive rabies treatment to four individuals who were exposed to the animal.

Authorities have urged anyone who had contact with the infected cow, or whose animals may have come into contact with it or with stray animals in the area between July 17 and July 31, 2026, to urgently contact the Kinneret Health Office at 04-6710300 or their nearest health office. This is to assess the need for preventive treatment against rabies.

The ministry's prompt response aims to prevent further rabies exposure and ensure public health safety in the region.
