Rabid Dog Found in Givat Ze'ev Prompts Health Warning and Vaccinations
The Israeli Ministry of Health has reported the discovery of a dog infected with rabies in Givat Ze'ev, specifically on Hai Bar Street. Following this finding, one individual who was exposed to the dog has been directed to receive preventive rabies vaccination. The Ministry urges anyone who had contact with animals in the area between August 15 and August 26 to urgently contact the Jerusalem Health Office at 02-5314820. Outside of office hours, individuals should go to the emergency room. The Ministry also reminds the public that anyone bitten or scratched by an animal should immediately wash the wound with soap and water, disinfect it, and seek medical attention at the health office.
