Red Star Belgrade's Douglas Aveso Set to Join Hapoel Tel Aviv Today

Hapoel Tel Aviv is finalizing the signing of Douglas Aveso, a winger from Red Star Belgrade, to replace Louizos Louizo, who recently moved to Red Star. Serbian sports outlet Sportal reported that the deal, agreed upon yesterday, is expected to close today. Aveso, 20, was not included in Red Star's plans under coach Dejan Stankovic and is being sold by the club.

Aveso joined Red Star in January for 2.2 million euros and is currently valued at 4.5 million euros by Transfermarkt. He nearly transferred to Viktoria Plzen last summer for 3.3 million euros but failed the medical tests, preventing the move. The Ghanaian winger, known for playing on the right wing with a strong left foot, has pushed for a move to Israel, effectively reversing the direction of Louizo's transfer.

Since joining Red Star, Aveso scored two goals and provided one assist, having previously played for Serbian club Radnik. In the last Serbian SuperLiga season, he scored nine goals in 33 appearances. This transfer marks a significant move for Hapoel Tel Aviv as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.
