Red Star Belgrade's Douglas Aveso Set to Join Hapoel Tel Aviv Today

Hapoel Tel Aviv is close to finalizing the signing of winger Douglas Aveso from Red Star Belgrade, according to Serbian media reports. The 20-year-old Ghanaian player, valued at 4.5 million euros by Transfermarkt, agreed to terms with the Israeli club yesterday, and the deal is expected to be completed today. Aveso will replace Louizos Louizo, who recently moved in the opposite direction to Red Star.

Aveso joined Red Star Belgrade in January for 2.2 million euros but was not included in coach Dejan Stankovic's plans after failing to impress during preseason. Previously, he was nearly transferred to Viktoria Plzen for 3.3 million euros last summer but failed the medical tests, preventing the move. The winger, known for playing on the right flank with a strong left foot, has scored two goals and provided one assist since joining Red Star, and he netted nine goals in 33 appearances in the Serbian SuperLiga last season while playing for Radnik.

The transfer marks a significant move for Aveso, who has actively pushed for a transfer to Israel, reversing the path of Louizo. Hapoel Tel Aviv's coach, Eliniv Berda, is expected to integrate Aveso into the squad soon as the club strengthens its attacking options ahead of the new season.
