IDF and Shin Bet Kill Hamas Doctor Holding Israeli Hostages in Gaza City Strike

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Shin Bet announced on Thursday the targeted killing of Abd al-Rahim Abd al-Hadi Youssef Kardi, a deputy commander in Hamas's military wing and a doctor at Shifa Hospital in Gaza. Kardi was directly involved in holding Israeli hostages during the ongoing conflict, including Romi Gonen and the late Noa Marziano. According to the IDF spokesperson, Kardi infiltrated Israeli territory during the October 7 massacre and played a key role in detaining Gonen within Gaza and Shifa Hospital, as well as holding Marziano's body after her killing until her recovery by Israeli forces.

The IDF emphasized that Kardi continued to orchestrate terrorist activities against Israeli forces and civilians throughout the war, posing a significant threat that led to his precise aerial elimination. This operation is part of a broader series of military actions in Gaza City aimed at neutralizing threats to Israeli soldiers and civilians.

Earlier in the week, the IDF also killed Ahmad Hassin Muhammad Kafina, commander of the Central Camps area for the militant group Kataeb al-Mujahedin, who was responsible for planning the October 7 raid and kidnapping of Avintan Or and Noa Argamani. The IDF Southern Command remains deployed in Gaza according to existing agreements and continues operations to eliminate threats amid ongoing diplomatic efforts related to the conflict's second phase.

Separately, the Peace Council for Gaza revealed a comprehensive roadmap for implementing the Trump plan, which includes transferring authority to a national committee and the complete dismantling of terrorist organizations in the region.
