IDF and Shin Bet Strike Hamas Commander in Rafah
The Israeli military and the Shin Bet security agency conducted a targeted strike overnight Tuesday against the Hamas commander of the Rafah brigade in the southern Gaza Strip. Reports from Gaza indicate the attack occurred in the al-Mawasi area, west of Khan Younis, resulting in the deaths of two individuals and injuries to 14 others. Earlier this week, the commander of the Khan Younis brigade and other senior Hamas operatives were eliminated.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant confirmed the target was the Hamas commander of the Rafah brigade. In a joint statement, they declared, "Our message is clear: no terrorist is immune, and Hamas will not be in Gaza. We strengthen the IDF and the Shin Bet, who are acting decisively to remove threats and protect the citizens of Israel."
