Man Arrested for Stabbing Rabbi Amos Guetta Four Times in Netanya Home

A 36-year-old man from Netanya is set to be charged with the murder of Rabbi Amos Guetta, who was fatally stabbed in his home on July 1. According to the investigation, the suspect arrived early in the morning, requested to pray beside the rabbi's bed, and after being allowed into the room, drew a knife and stabbed Rabbi Guetta four times while he was lying in bed.

The rabbi's assistant was injured lightly in the hand while trying to subdue the attacker. Emergency medical teams transported Rabbi Guetta to Laniado Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The suspect fled the scene but was quickly located and arrested by detectives from the Netanya station and the Sharon district central unit. The murder weapon was recovered at the scene.

Central District Police Commander Amir Cohen took charge of the investigation, assigning it to the Sharon district's major crimes unit. Investigators conducted interrogations, collected forensic evidence, and gathered testimonies. The suspect confessed to the stabbing, and a strong evidentiary basis has been established. The Central District Prosecutor's Office is expected to file an indictment today charging the suspect with murder under aggravating circumstances and additional offenses.
