Israel Faces Rising Heat with Extreme Heatwaves Expected Through Early August

Following the morning cloud dispersal today, clear skies will prevail with a slight temperature increase, especially in the mountainous and inland areas where it will be hotter than usual and dry. The coastal plain will remain mild, but heat stress will intensify. On Thursday, July 30, temperatures will rise slightly again, with hot to very hot conditions in the mountains and inland, while the coastal plain stays mild. Heavy to extreme heat stress is expected across most of the country. Friday, July 31, will be mostly clear with continued hot to very hot weather inland and mild conditions along the coast. The heavy to extreme heat stress will persist nationwide. On Saturday, August 1, temperatures will remain largely unchanged, but heat stress will increase further. Hot to very hot conditions will continue inland and in the mountains, with mild weather on the coast and heavy to extreme heat stress across most areas. Forecasted temperatures include Tel Aviv-Jaffa at 26°-31°C, Haifa 26°-31°C, Jerusalem 23°-33°C, Ashdod 25°-31°C, Beersheba 23°-37°C, Ashkelon 26°-31°C, Mitzpe Ramon 22°-33°C, and Afula 24°-36°C.
