Hapoel Tel Aviv Extends Tomer Ginat's Contract with Lucrative Four-Year Deal

Tomer Ginat officially extended his contract with Hapoel Tel Aviv for an additional four years, securing his future with the club. Despite interest from other teams in Israel and Europe, including Hapoel Jerusalem, Ginat committed to remaining a key Israeli player under coach Dimitris Itoudis. The new contract guarantees Ginat a salary of at least $1.2 million per season, including bonuses for championships and European achievements. This salary is among the highest ever for an Israeli basketball player at Hapoel Tel Aviv, second only to Yam Madar, who earned $1.9 million last season before signing a three-year, $2 million per season deal with Maccabi Tel Aviv.

The negotiations were led by Ofer Yanai, and during the national team window, coach Itoudis emphasized Ginat's importance to the club. Ginat, 31 years old and 2.02 meters tall, posted strong averages last season in the Israeli Premier League with 10.1 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 1.9 assists in under 22 minutes per game. In the EuroLeague, he averaged 3.3 points and 1.9 rebounds in about 10 minutes per game. This contract extension ends speculation about his potential departure and highlights Hapoel Tel Aviv's commitment to retaining their top Israeli talent.
