Jerusalem Targets Tomer Ginat as Top Offseason Priority
After losing 89-81 to Hapoel Tel Aviv on Thursday and being eliminated 3-0 in the semifinal playoff series, Hapoel Jerusalem has already shifted focus to next season. The club from the capital is preparing to appoint Sasha Obradovic as head coach in the coming days, and its first major target is one of the top Israeli players in the league, Tomer Ginat.
Ginat recently returned from a long injury absence and delivered 9 points and 3 rebounds in 20 minutes against Jerusalem, with a plus-minus of 19, the best on Hapoel Tel Aviv. The forward, who captains the Israel national team, is finishing his fourth season in his second spell at Hapoel Tel Aviv and his eighth overall with the club.
This season, Ginat averaged 10.4 points per game, shot 44% from three-point range, and added 6.2 rebounds per game. He is under contract for next season at Hapoel Tel Aviv, where he earns about $1 million per year.
Jerusalem wants Ginat to join a core that is expected to include Jared Harper, Yovel Zussman, Eitan Borg, and Roi Huber, strengthening the team’s Israeli backbone as it aims to return to the 2026/27 final.
