Jerusalem Makes Tomer Ginat Its Top Target for Next Season

After losing 89-81 to Hapoel Tel Aviv and being eliminated from the playoffs in a 3-0 semifinal sweep, Hapoel Jerusalem has already turned to planning for next season. The club, which is expected to appoint Sasha Obradovic as coach in the coming days, has identified Israel national team captain Tomer Ginat as its primary target.

Ginat recently returned from a long injury absence and played well against Jerusalem on Thursday, finishing with 9 points and 3 rebounds in 20 minutes. He posted a team-best plus-minus of 19 for the red side, the highest on the floor for Hapoel Tel Aviv.

The forward is completing his fourth season in his second spell with Hapoel Tel Aviv, and his eighth overall with the club. This season he averaged 10.4 points per game, shot 44% from three-point range, and added 6.2 rebounds per game.

Ginat is under contract with Hapoel Tel Aviv for next season and earns about $1 million a year. Jerusalem hopes to bring him in to strengthen its Israeli core alongside Jared Harper, Yuval Zussman, Eitan Burg, and Roye Huber, with the aim of returning to the final in the 2026/27 season.
