Maccabi Tel Aviv Signs Slovenian Striker Aster Sokler on Two-Year Deal

Maccabi Tel Aviv officially announced the signing of 27-year-old Slovenian striker Aster Sokler from Serbian club FK Radnički Kragujevac. Sokler, who stands 1.81 meters tall, signed a two-year contract with an option to extend for an additional two seasons and is expected to wear the number 9 jersey.

Sokler joins Maccabi following a standout season in Serbia where he scored 15 goals in 29 appearances across all competitions during the 2025/26 season. He is expected to play a key role in Maccabi's attacking lineup as the team prepares for domestic league and European competitions.

Upon signing, Sokler expressed pride in joining a club with a rich history and high ambitions. He acknowledged the expectations that come with wearing the Maccabi jersey and committed to giving his all to help the team achieve its goals, score goals, win titles, and make the fans proud.

Sokler's career includes extensive experience across Europe, having developed in the youth system of Krško Posavje and played for clubs including Brežice, Celje, and Radomlje. In June 2023, he transferred to Scottish club Aberdeen, scoring 12 goals in 72 appearances over two seasons before moving to Serbia. His performances earned him his senior debut for the Slovenian national team in a friendly against Cyprus in June 2026.
