Maccabi Tel Aviv Signs Slovenian Striker Aster Sokler on Three-Year Deal
Maccabi Tel Aviv officially announced the signing of Slovenian striker Aster Sokler on July 26, 2026. The 27-year-old forward, who scored 15 goals last season for Serbian top-tier club Radnički, was acquired for one million euros. Sokler signed a three-year contract with Maccabi, earning approximately 400,000 euros per season.
Sokler made his international debut for Slovenia about a month ago, marking his rise to the international level. During the previous season, he played 29 league matches for Radnički, scoring 15 goals and providing one assist, and was named to the league's team of the week three times. He will wear the number 9 jersey at Maccabi.
Before joining Radnički, Sokler began his career in Slovenia and was sold to Scottish club Aberdeen in summer 2023 for 350,000 euros. After two seasons in Scotland, where he scored 12 goals in 72 appearances, he was loaned to Radnički and later purchased by them for 225,000 euros. Maccabi Tel Aviv views Sokler as a significant offensive reinforcement and expects him to quickly adapt and contribute to the team’s goals of winning titles and making fans proud.
