Maccabi Tel Aviv Signs Slovenian Striker Aster Sokler for Three Years

Maccabi Tel Aviv officially announced the signing of Slovenian striker Aster Sokler on July 26, 2026. The 27-year-old forward, who scored 15 goals last season for Serbian top-tier club Radnički, was acquired for one million euros. Sokler signed a three-year contract with Maccabi Tel Aviv, earning approximately 400,000 euros per season.

Sokler made his international debut for Slovenia about a month ago, marking his rise to the international level. During the previous season, he played 29 league matches for Radnički, scoring 15 goals and providing one assist. He was also named to the league's team of the week three times. Sokler began his career in Slovenia before moving to Aberdeen in Scotland in summer 2023 for 350,000 euros. After two seasons and 12 goals in 72 appearances, he was loaned to Radnički and later purchased by them for 225,000 euros.

Wearing jersey number 9, Sokler expressed pride in joining Maccabi Tel Aviv, a club with a rich history and high ambitions. He stated his commitment to helping the team achieve its goals, score goals, win titles, and make fans proud.
