Netanyahu and Defense Minister Order House Demolition and Strong Military Action in West Bank Terror Villages

Following a deadly terror attack in the Givat Gilad area that killed Benyahu Malat and injured three others, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz directed the IDF to take extensive security measures in the West Bank. The attack involved a terrorist who seized a security weapon and opened fire on Israeli hikers before being killed by IDF forces.

The government ordered the immediate demolition of the terrorist's home near the village of Tal. Additionally, they mandated a robust military operation targeting villages identified as terror hubs across Judea and Samaria. This operation includes weapons confiscation, revoking work permits of residents involved in terror activities, and mass arrests of suspects. Over 80 wanted individuals inciting or planning terror attacks were detained overnight.

To support these efforts, the IDF has reinforced its forces throughout the West Bank and imposed a curfew in the Samaria region to facilitate unrestricted security operations. The military focus is on villages with heightened terror activity, such as Beit Furik and Tubas. Furthermore, the government ordered the separation of traffic routes and the establishment of additional checkpoints to reduce friction between populations and ensure safer movement for settlers.

The government also plans to accelerate the regulation and establishment of new outposts in line with its settlement policy. Netanyahu and Katz expressed condolences to the Malat family and wished a speedy recovery to the wounded. They emphasized the importance of allowing security forces to operate freely and with full strength to defeat terrorism and protect Israeli citizens and settlers in the region.
