Israel Raises Alert as Trump Threats Increase Risk of Iranian Attacks

Israel has heightened its alert level over the possibility of a direct confrontation with Iran, following recent threats by U.S. President Donald Trump. Trump warned of striking Iran's national infrastructure in response to any Iranian retaliation, increasing the likelihood of Israeli involvement and potential Iranian missile fire toward Israeli territory.

Amid rising tensions, discussions are underway for a possible meeting between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Trump next week, though no date or flight preparations have been finalized. Due to the sensitive situation in the region, Israel is not currently preparing for an immediate trip to Washington.

The United States has informed Israel of plans to escalate attacks on Iran in the coming days, including the use of heavy bombers for the first time in this current escalation. Notably, B-2 strategic bombers have been deployed from the UK to strike Iranian targets as part of Operation "Roaring Lion." One key target reportedly is the Fordow nuclear facility, which Trump has vowed to attack soon.

The security coordination between Washington and Jerusalem aims to prepare Israel for potential Iranian missile launches toward Israeli territory, which would prompt renewed Israeli strikes on Iran. Earlier reports revealed that the U.S. prefers to keep Israel out of the direct escalation loop. Israeli intelligence has also informed the U.S. that Iran transferred centrifuges to tunnels near Mount Omar following Israel's "With the Wolf" operation in June 2025.

Meanwhile, doubts have been raised in Israel about the role of Mojtaba Khamenei, and warnings were issued that if another fuel tanker arrives at Ben Gurion Airport, flight cancellations may begin.
