Israel on High Alert as US Plans Heavy Bomber Strikes on Iran Amid Rising Tensions

Israel is escalating its alert level amid growing concerns of further conflict with Iran. Following a series of threats from US President Donald Trump, Jerusalem has been informed that Washington plans to deploy heavy bombers against targets in Iran for the first time in the current wave of hostilities. One key target reportedly under consideration is Mount Machoosh, which Trump recently indicated he intends to strike soon. Earlier reports confirmed that during Operation "Roar of the Lion," the US used strategic bombers flying directly from the UK to attack Iranian sites.

Israeli defense officials warn that any significant expansion of US strikes could provoke retaliation from Tehran against Israel. Consequently, the Israel Defense Forces have heightened their defensive and offensive readiness, preparing for possible missile launches toward Israel as early as this weekend. Such developments might also prompt Israel to resume its own attacks inside Iran. However, Jerusalem stresses that the final decision rests with President Trump, who has yet to decide on a major military move. Israeli officials say that if Washington opts for a large-scale strike, Israel is expected to join the operation.

Amid these preparations, Mossad chief Ronen Bar has recently visited Washington, holding meetings with CIA Director John Ratcliffe and White House officials to coordinate security efforts regarding Iran. Meanwhile, Iran continues to issue stern warnings. Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf declared a stark "all or nothing" stance on the conflict, emphasizing that if Iran’s security is not guaranteed, no oil will be sold from the region and no infrastructure will remain safe. He also linked the security of the Strait of Hormuz to the absence of US forces.

Additionally, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard’s Air Force commander warned that Iran would cut electricity to US regional allies if Iranian roads and power plants are attacked. These statements come shortly after Trump threatened to destroy Iranian infrastructure, including in Tehran, in response to any Iranian attacks on ships in the Strait of Hormuz. Trump also announced on social media that he ordered CENTCOM to "open the gates of hell" following the deaths of four US soldiers, whose coffins were returned to the US today.

Iranian state TV broadcast footage of armed civilians mobilizing on the Abu Musa, Greater Tunb, and Lesser Tunb islands near the Strait of Hormuz, asserting that the entire Gulf region is under Iran’s full surveillance and control. Despite the tensions, Iran claims that maritime traffic through the strait continues under Tehran’s established arrangements.
