Rabid Fox Found in Rosh Pina Prompts Health Warnings
The Israeli Ministry of Health has reported the discovery of a fox infected with rabies in the town of Rosh Pina, located in the Upper Galilee region. As of now, there are no known cases of human exposure to the infected animal. The ministry urges anyone who has had contact with stray animals in the area between July 2 and July 16, 2026, to urgently contact the Safed Health Office or their nearest health office for guidance. Pet owners are advised to verify their animals' vaccination status with the official veterinarian. The Ministry also reminds the public that anyone bitten or scratched by an animal should immediately wash the wound with soap and water, disinfect it, and seek medical attention at a health office.
