Rabid Fox Found in Northern Israel; Four Exposed Individuals Seek Treatment
The Ministry of Health has reported the discovery of a fox infected with rabies in the village of G'ilai in the Upper Galilee. Four individuals who came into contact with the rabid animal have been directed to receive preventative treatment.
The ministry is urging anyone who had contact with stray animals in the area between August 15th and August 30th to urgently contact the Safed Health Bureau or their nearest health office. After working hours, individuals should report to the emergency room.
For those who have been bitten or scratched, the Ministry of Health reminds them to immediately wash the wound with soap and water, disinfect it, and then report to the health bureau.
