Rabid Fox Found in Northern Israel, Four Exposed Seek Treatment
The Ministry of Health announced that a fox infected with rabies was discovered in the community of Kfar Giladi in the Upper Galilee. Four individuals who came into contact with the animal have been referred for preventative treatment.
The ministry is urging anyone who had contact with the infected animal or with stray animals in the area between August 15 and August 30, or whose pets had such contact, to urgently contact the Safed Health Bureau or the health bureau nearest to their residence.
The discovery of the rabid fox highlights the ongoing risk of rabies transmission in certain wildlife populations and the importance of public awareness and prompt medical attention following potential exposure.
