Israeli Tax Authority Distributes 260 Million Shekels in Work Grants to 130,000 Eligible Citizens

The Israeli Tax Authority is transferring the first installment of the 2025 work grant today, totaling approximately 260 million shekels to around 130,000 eligible recipients. Known also as the negative income tax, this grant is paid directly into the bank accounts of those who applied and can amount to several thousand shekels annually. The amount depends on factors such as income, age, family status, and number of children.

Eligible recipients include employees and self-employed individuals aged 21 and over who are parents, as well as individuals aged 55 and above without children, provided their income falls within the thresholds set by the Tax Authority. For example, parents of one or two children qualify within specific income brackets, and single parents may be eligible across broader income ranges. However, those who own or whose spouse owns an investment property are disqualified from receiving the grant.

Applications for the grant can be submitted online through the Tax Authority's website. Payments are made in multiple installments depending on the application submission date.
