Israeli Tax Authority Disburses 260 Million Shekels to 130,000 Workers in First Work Grant Payment
The Israeli Tax Authority is transferring the first payment of the 2025 Work Grant today, Thursday, totaling approximately 260 million shekels. This payment will be deposited directly into the bank accounts of around 130,000 eligible workers who meet the legal criteria. The Work Grant aims to improve the financial situation of low-wage workers, reduce socio-economic gaps, and incentivize workforce participation.
Eligible recipients include employees and self-employed individuals aged 21 and over who are parents, as well as workers aged 55 and above regardless of parental status, provided their income meets the criteria outlined in the 2025 Work Grant guide. Additional benefits include a special grant for parents of toddlers starting in 2024 and an advance payment option for women employees over 60 born after January 1, 1960, who qualify.
Applications for the grant are submitted online via the Tax Authority’s website and are paid in multiple installments depending on the application date, with the first installment paid on July 15 of the eligibility year. Those who have not yet applied for the 2024 grant can still do so online until December 31, 2026.
