Israeli Tax Authority to Disburse NIS 260 Million Work Grants to 130,000 Low-Income Workers

On July 16, 2026, the Israeli Tax Authority will transfer approximately NIS 260 million to the bank accounts of around 130,000 eligible workers as part of the first installment of the 2025 work grant program. The average payment per recipient is about NIS 2,000. This grant aims to supplement the income of low-wage salaried employees and self-employed individuals to improve their economic situation and reduce social disparities.

Eligibility for the work grant requires applicants to be at least 21 years old with children or 55 and older without children, not own more than one residential property either in Israel or abroad, and meet specific income thresholds that vary according to family composition. For example, families with one or two children must have a monthly average income between NIS 2,450 and NIS 7,289, while single parents with three or more children qualify with incomes between NIS 1,510 and NIS 13,660.

Applicants must submit a one-time online application through the Tax Authority website, providing personal details and declarations. Applications are reviewed within 90 days or by July 15 of the tax year, whichever is later. Payments are made in installments depending on the application date. The grant amount depends on various factors including income, number of children, age, and marital status, with single or working parents receiving a 150% increase. The minimum monthly payment is NIS 20.

Those who have not yet applied for the 2025 grant can do so until December 31, 2027. Additionally, employed women over 60 born after January 1, 1960, may apply for an advance on the 2026 grant. Retroactive applications for the 2024 tax year are accepted until the end of 2026.
