Elor Azaria Requests Criminal Record Reduction, Defense Minister Provides Opinion
Following Defense Minister Israel Katz's announcement that he submitted a request to shorten Elor Azaria's criminal record period, the President's Residence clarified that Azaria himself filed the request. According to the official statement, Azaria submitted the application to reduce the duration of his criminal record. The request was forwarded to the security establishment for opinions from relevant authorities, including the Defense Minister and the IDF.
So far, only Defense Minister Katz's opinion has been received. The President's Residence is currently awaiting additional required assessments before proceeding further. Once all opinions are gathered, the President will carefully and responsibly consider the request.
