Yam Madar Signs Record Deal with Maccabi Tel Aviv Basketball Club

Yam Madar has finalized a two-year contract with Maccabi Tel Aviv, becoming the highest-paid player in the club's history when considering employer costs and Israeli taxation. Madar will earn a net salary of $2 million per season, nearly double that of current top earner Roman Sorkin, with expectations of further salary increases due to his valued status at the club. For Maccabi Tel Aviv, the total employer cost will reach approximately $4 million annually. The previous highest-paid player was Carlos Arroyo, who earned $2.5 million but did not incur Israeli taxes, making Madar's contract significantly more expensive for the club. Additionally, Madar paid a $300,000 buyout fee to Hapoel Tel Aviv, but Maccabi Tel Aviv will cover most of this through a $250,000 signing bonus, which largely compensates Hapoel Tel Aviv. This agreement marks a major investment by Maccabi Tel Aviv in securing Madar's talents for their championship team.
