Rescue teams are conducting extensive searches on Wednesday evening for a 15-year-old boy who was swept away by the sea at an unmonitored beach near Palmachim. Two other boys were also swept away but were rescued safely without needing medical treatment. Police from the Central District's Yavne station arrived at the scene along with Magen David Adom (MDA) personnel to assist in the search efforts.
Dozens of police officers, volunteers, and local authority personnel are participating in the operation. Additionally, the Lahav unit and firefighting and rescue teams from the Central District have been dispatched to aid in the search. This incident comes amid a concerning rise in child drowning fatalities, highlighted by a recent case of a 13-year-old boy in serious condition after drowning in a pool.
Authorities continue their urgent search to locate the missing teenager and prevent further tragedies related to water safety.
