Rescue Teams Search for Missing Teen After Three Swept Away Near Palmachim Beach

Rescue forces are currently conducting extensive searches near an unregulated beach close to Palmachim following reports that three teenage boys were swept away by water. Two boys, both approximately 15 years old, were rescued and did not require medical treatment. The third boy remains missing, prompting ongoing search efforts by multiple emergency units.

The Israel Fire and Rescue Services deployed the Lahav unit and teams from the Central District to assist in the search. Magen David Adom (MDA) received the initial report at 17:15 and confirmed that two boys were pulled from the water without injuries. Additional MDA teams are providing medical support during the search for the missing teenager.

According to data from the Bat-Ten organization, 11 children and teenagers have drowned so far in 2026, a 5.5-fold increase compared to two fatalities during the same period last year. Over the past five years (2021-2025), 82 children and teens drowned, with about 19% aged 15 to 17. Authorities continue to emphasize the importance of water safety amid this alarming rise in youth drownings.
