IDF and Shin Bet Kill Palestinian Islamic Jihad Terrorist Involved in October 7 Attacks
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Shin Bet announced on Monday the killing of Zaher Barham Khalil Abu Salem, a Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorist, in a strike in northern Gaza. Abu Salem was involved in the October 7 massacre, including the abduction and holding of Israeli civilians captive. According to the IDF and Shin Bet, Abu Salem infiltrated Israeli territory during the terror attack and actively participated in kidnapping Israeli civilians from their homes.
Israeli security officials noted that throughout the ongoing conflict and in recent times, Abu Salem worked to advance terrorist operations against IDF forces and Israeli civilians. He posed a significant threat to Israeli troops operating in Gaza. The airstrike that killed him was carried out yesterday. The IDF Southern Command emphasized that its forces continue to operate in the area according to agreements and will persist in neutralizing any threats to Israeli soldiers and civilians.
