IDF and Shin Bet Kill West Khan Yunis Militant Involved in October 7 Israeli Kidnappings

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Shin Bet conducted an operation in southern Gaza Strip on Tuesday, killing Hayed Abu Salam, a former commander of the western platoon in Khan Yunis. Abu Salam participated in the October 7 massacre by infiltrating Israeli territory and abducting Israeli civilians, whom he later helped hold captive in southern Gaza. Recently, he was involved in planning further terrorist attacks, including attempts to restore weapons intended to target IDF forces operating in the area. Due to his immediate threat to Israeli troops, Abu Salam was eliminated in a precise aerial strike. The IDF Southern Command stated that its forces remain deployed in the area according to existing agreements and will continue to act to neutralize any immediate threats.
