Jerusalem police have opened an investigation into suspicions that a private caregiver in the city abused two toddlers under her care. The case is being handled by the Oz police station after complaints suggested harmful conduct toward the children.
According to the suspicion, the 49-year-old woman from the Har Homa neighborhood behaved inappropriately toward the toddlers, including shouting at them, cursing them, and ignoring their crying and needs while they were her responsibility. Investigators have been collecting evidence, taking testimony, and examining additional findings since the case was opened.
The suspect was arrested by Oz station officers on Wednesday night and brought in for questioning. After a hearing at the Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, her detention was extended until Monday.
Kan News reported that the detention hearing indicated suspicion of physical assault against toddlers, and photographs showing injuries were presented to the court.
